Chemical Technical Assistant / Chemical Laboratory Technician
To expand our team, we are currently looking for a full-time Chemical Technical Assistant (m/f/d) or Chemical Laboratory Technician (m/f/d) to start as soon as possible. We are seeking a candidate with completed training as a Chemical Laboratory Technician, Chemical Technical Assistant (CTA), or a comparable qualification. The ideal candidate will possess practical laboratory experience with strong expertise in organic chemistry and spectroscopy. Experience in physical and technical analysis methods, including thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and calorimetry (DSC), is required. We value individuals with an independent, systematic, and meticulous working style, along with excellent organizational skills and the ability to clearly document their work. A team-oriented mindset and enthusiasm for scientific activities are essential. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and databases, as well as a good command of both German and English, are also necessary for this role.
The successful candidate will support various research projects in the fields of chemistry and polymer science. Responsibilities include training in instrumental analysis, as well as the preparation and characterization of samples using techniques such as calorimetry (DSC), NMR, IR, and UV-vis spectroscopy. Additionally, the role involves general laboratory management, including ordering consumables and maintaining safety standards. The candidate will also be responsible for data collection and analysis, the preparation of manuals and experimental documentation, and the routine maintenance of equipment, along with organizing service and repairs when necessary.
We offer a friendly, collegial, and international team in a dynamic and innovative environment, providing valuable insights into practical research and development. You will gain experience in scientific work, supported by structured onboarding and professional development opportunities. Compensation is based on the collective wage agreement for public service (TV-L). The position is initially limited to two years, with the potential for extension to a permanent role. Part-time employment can be arranged by mutual agreement.

Thesis work towards the M.Sc. or B.Sc. degrees or research internships are available around the year on various topics. As long as capacities are available, we are happy to accept interested students from within TUM and from other institutions. Generally, the duration of an intership should be 6 weeks or more. Please familiarize yourself with our research and think of areas of interest to you prior to contacting us.
