Dr. Rogerio de Souza Noia Junior, recently graduated from the chair of Digital Agriculture, presented the result of his doctoral work at the "5th Global Food Security Conference" held in Leuven, Belgium from 9 to 12 April 2024. With a work entitled "Are we underestimating the impact of climate change on highly affected wheat crop areas?" provided an overview of the future scenarios of wheat production at a global level, focusing on the importance of predicting the impacts of extreme climate events which are often underestimated or not correctly represented by predictive models as happened in the case of France in 2016 where no model had predicted a significant reduction in the yield of wheat crops which instead decreased by 50%.
