Research Tractor AMX G-trac
With the AMX G-trac, the Chair of Agrimechatronics is conducting research in various areas of tractor engineering and field robotics. The projects around the G-trac produce technologies that serve as enablers for autonomous agricultural machinery. Additionally, G-trac is a platform for the future electronics architecture in tractor-implement systems.
The basic machine consists of a diesel engine, a power-split CVT transmission and four-wheel steering. On top of that, mechatronic and software features are developed continuously.
Research topics include:
- navigation and guidance
- coverage path planning
- positioning and sensor fusion
- perception for autonomous off-road machinery
- future in-vehicle communication systems in agricultural machinery
- functional safety in embedded systems
- advanced electro-hydraulic control systems
- automated work processes with mechatronized implements
- digital twins in tractor engineering
- human-machine interface for autonomous and semi-autonomous tractors
- augmented reality for in-cabin applications
