Study
Food Chemistry is offered as a Bachelor's and Master's degree programme at the Technical University of Munich.
The bachelor's programme provides a solid basic education in inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry and analytical chemistry, with specialisations in food chemistry and microbiology. The aim is to develop sustainable strategies to meet the increasing demand for healthy and safe food in society. The degree programme has an interdisciplinary structure and, in addition to the scientific core areas, also considers content from the life sciences. Application information.
The Master's programme focuses on the entire value chain in the food sector, from production to processing, packaging and preparation. The programme focuses on knowledge of ingredients that are produced during the processing and preparation of food. The question of how targeted interventions in the relevant production processes can change the molecular composition of food is pursued in an interdisciplinary and holistic approach - all in the name of preventive consumer protection. The programme also covers food law, food toxicology and quality assurance. Application information.
