In the latest paper of the WG Foodomics together with the project partner Mars Petcare, a long-term study on the non-targeted mass spectrometric analysis of pet food samples is presented. Over 6 years, 32 batches of pet food samples were measured using FT-ICR-MS. Repeated analysis of two quality control samples, extracted and analyzed consistently with each batch over the entire study period, showed long-term consistent measurement results for the several hundred samples. Changes in hardware or personnel did not lead to any significant deviations. The results show how important it is to optimize critical method and instrument parameters as early as possible to ensure data continuity over long periods of time. All details can be found here.
